Current Impression Materials and Techniques from Porcelain Laminate Veneers to Implant Supported Fixed Prosthetics

With the development of materials and technology at tooth loss or hard tissue of tooth, the options of fixed prosthetic treatment that can be applied to the patients have been increased. The precise and accurate impression of the prepared region on porcelain laminate veneer or implant-supported fixed prosthetics, technical precision is very important that directly affects the success of the restoration. For this reason, it is necessary to give importance to the impression material and measurement technique used. The impression materials have undergone changes over the years to record the details accurately and precisely. Especially the physical and chemical properties have been improved. In addition to the many changes in impression techniques, the biggest advance has been gained with the intraoral scanner-based digital impression techniques in CAD / CAM systems. In this lecture, the details of current impression materials and techniques will be discussed in all aspects in clinic applications.
