Emre Aytuğar

He was born in 1979 in Bolu. He graduated from Bolu İzzet Baysal Anatolian High School in 1996. After graduating from the Istanbul University Dentistry Faculty in 2002, he worked as a volunteer assistant in the Department of Tumour Pathology and Oncology Cytology at the Istanbul University, Institute of Oncology between 2002-2003. In 2003, he started his PhD education at Marmara University Oral Diagnosis and Radiology Department. In 2009, he completed his PhD thesis study titled "Comparative Evaluation of HLA Subtypes, Interleukin-2, Interleukin-6 and T-Regulator Cell Values ​​from Possible Etiologic Factors in Patients with and without Behcet's Disease with and without Recurrent Aphtotic Ulcers". He has been as assistant professor and head of department  in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in Istanbul Aydin University and Bezmialem Vakif University Faculty of Dentistry between 2011 and 2016. Since 2017 April, he is assistant professor and head of deparment in Izmir Katip Çelebi University Faculty of Dentistry Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He is married with his collegue -Tuğçe Biçer Aytuğar-  since 2012.

Proper Medication in Aphthous Ulcerations and Fungal Infections

Dentists frequently encounter oral aphthous ulcerations and fungal infections in the oral cavity. These lesions are similar to many oral mucosal diseases and the differential diagnosis should be carefully evaluated and careful medical treatment is required. The criteria for the diagnosis of these lesions, the medicines to be used and not to be used in treatment, and current approaches related to the subject will be mentioned.
